How to brush your little one’s teeth without the fight!

If you’ve found yourself dreading teeth-brushing time because it’s become a twice-daily battle with your child, it might just be time to change up your strategy.

Making brushing a fun, playful experience will not only encourage your littlie to clean their teeth without fuss or arguments, it can even lead to a more joyful morning and evening routine. Imagine that!

There are a few ways to go about it – if you’re using a manual toothbrush, why not turn brushing into a game! Try these ideas:

  • Play brush-the-animal-out: take a look inside your little one’s mouth and encourage them to brush out funny things, like elephants or tigers, or say “Did you eat blueberries today? I think I can see them! We’d better brush them out!”

  • Set a timer for 2 minutes and have your child choose the sound they’d like the timer to make when it goes off (the funnier, the better – hello, robot and quacking duck!)

  • Sing a favourite, motivating song for 2 minutes while they brush, or even better, make up your own! Your child loves to hear you sing, no matter what you think of your own singing voice. Summon up your inner Beyonce and let loose!

For a super fun twist on the brushing routine, why not try a Little Gnashies electric toothbrush, along with your child’s choice of delicious, fun-to-use toothpaste foams. Choose from Leo the Lion’s Roaring Orange, Sammy the Shark’s Snapping Strawberry, Wally the Walrus’s Munching Honeydew or Henrietta the Hippo’s Chomping Grape. With so many flavours and two cute koala electric toothbrushes to choose from, your child will be so excited to brush their teeth, those dreaded brushing battles will be a thing of the past (hurray!).
